COCASAM is a co-operative consisting of 16 small coffee producers who occupy the Botija Ridge, a mountainous area in the Municipality of San Marcos de Colon; the first place in Honduras to produce coffee. The farmers pride themselves on their traditional farming practices first introduced by immigrants in the 1800's. The high-quality coffee they produce is organically grown as they work towards protecting the environment and improving their community.
