This coffee comes to us from Asproguate, a women owned and operated cooperative consisting of over 300 female producers. Grown at high elevation in San Martin Jilotepeque, Acatenango and Atitlan, the program was created to empower female coffee producers by training its members in financial, farm and health improvements while ensuring fair prices for its members. Most members' farms are less than 5 hectares, and all coffee is grown using organic farming practices and hand harvested between November and April before being collected by cooperative members for processing.
