Gold Mountain Microlot - Nicaragua
Cup Characteristics: Blackberry, Grape Juice, Creamy Body
We’ve partnered with Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, a social enterprise who, in addition to operating its own farm, work hand in hand with coffee producers from the Jinotega region to help connect them directly to roasters like us. For this offering, coffee cherries from multiple farms are picked at peak ripeness and dried on raised beds for around 34 days. This collaboration includes lots of red and yellow caturra, red and yellow catuai, Bourbon, pache and even a sprinkling of red pacamara.
The farmers that were part of this lot are Maria Eugenia Jiron, Melchi Sedec Flores Estrada, Elmer Leandro Montenegro Montenegro, Cruz Alejandro González, Luis Sabino Gonzalez, Mireya del Socorro Flores Gadea, José Luís Gonzalez Altamirano, Maximino Palacios Morales, Juan Eliezer Gonzalez Gutierrez, Juan Lucas Gonzalez Altamirano and even some coffee from GMCG’s flagship farm, Finca Idealista. By paying a premium over market price and through GMCG’s direct involvement with the farmers, we’re happy to be a part of supporting each and every farmer involved.
In the cup we’re met with notes of blackberry and grape juice, with subtle undertones of milk chocolate; all encompassed within a full creamy body.
