    94 PointsCOFFEE REVIEW 2014

Now in their 6th year of milling their own coffee, the Delgados have excelled in perfecting the process of producing wonderful coffees. This year we are fortunate to have their full Natural processed coffee where the whole cherry is layed out on raised drying beds under a solar dryer. The resulting cup profile is that of sweet raspberries and strawberries with a delicate citrus acidity and a silky body. The care and love that Alexander and Sara put into their farm is evident in the resulting quality of their coffee.

    1. A solid go-to roast that will never let you down star rating

The single best word to describe this coffee is 'reliable.' Slightly tart at first sip, the brew expands to swath your tastebuds in an exquisitely velvet medium-full body and leave a very pleasant cereal aftertaste that lingers for the right amount of time. Let me clarify the 'cereal' note in case your eyebrows raised at that: what comes to mind is that flavor of eating right out of the box a handful of whole grain, organic wheat and toasted oat cereal that has a balanced, not overpowering honey sweetness to it.
Though I haven't tried it, I imagine a dash of cinnamon would sex up a cup of this brew deliciously well.

My brewing process (posted for science, not for criticism):
40g whole beans, hand-ground coarse for French press (coarser than standard) plus a pinch of sea salt. ~700mL steam-distilled water heated to 180°F. Bloom thrice (10 second intervals between each) and steep for 10-12 minutes.

    2. Truly a fine coffee star rating
